Merlin's Liquid Light

In today's world, many of us rarely take a moment to come back to the here and now. We want to complete many tasks in the shortest possible time and be everywhere at once.
In the Mind Retreat | Soul Space series, I want to create a space where you can detach yourself from everyday life, immerse yourself in the micro- and macrocosm and discover new worlds. Sound and light will transport you into the present moment, giving your imagination free rein in the subconscious play | ground.
The project Mind Retreat | Soul Space is a performance series in which I combine my Liquid Light Show with different musicians, DJ's and performance artists.  The live performance creates an abstract interplay of light and colour, which conjures magical morphing forms. These will give substance to the instrumental and electronic sounds, the latter also influencing the light show in an ongoing exchange.

This time, Nimueh, my wonderful helper and I will brew the liquid lights together. Unfortunately, the musician I had planned for the collab had surgery and won't be ready to play. I'm preparing a music set myself like the last time, but in an another repertoire: an ambient, experimental, glitchy and instrumental Set, with an oriental touch. The water element will be omnipresent, in form of raindrops, the deep blues sea, as well the gentle sound of waves at shore under the sky blanket with billions of stars.

Practical Info


When: September 14th 2024 | Doors & Bar 20:00h | Show starts at 21:00h
Arrive early so as not to have any difficulty finding a cosy spot and not to disturb the others :-)

Where: Kasko @ Warteck Basel, entry on the second floor (see picture below) via the funky stairs or the elevator.

Seating: Chairs, benches and some cushions for the floor will be provided. You are welcome to bring any other materials to make it cosy.

Drinks: The bar will be open before and after the show
